Nestled in the World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest, Mossman Gorge contains the oldest, continuously surviving rainforest on earth. This steep-sided valley on the Mossman River, with cascading waterfalls and towering mountains is a delightful sanctuary to explore.
Mossman Gorge is 75 kms from Cairns. You need to park at Mossman Gorge Centre and catch the shuttle bus to the heart of the Gorge. Cost is $9.10 per adult return; departure is every 15 mins. The Centre itself is worth a visit, with some amazing indigenous art work to peruse or partake in some lemon myrtle damper with bush berry jam and billy tea!
